Ange's Style

Ange is a licensed associate marriage and family therapist working toward becoming fully licensed in Marriage and Family Therapy in Minnesota (Jessica VerBout, M.A., LMFT, CST is her supervisor). Ange is trained based on the Family Systems Model and utilizes techniques from several different pathways, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Attachment Theory and Internal Family Systems. Ange’s approach is a straightforward, non-judgmental style that allows the client to feel safe and secure in their journey by balancing openness and humor with supportive firmness and accountability. Ange strives to provide culturally competent and sensitive mental health services to individuals, family’s, and couples. Ange enjoys working with diverse populations while being sensitive to the client’s culture and religious backgrounds. Ange, also, works with parents to find the best parenting techniques for their family. Ange celebrates each client’s uniqueness, including the LGBTQIA, Polyamorous, GSERD , BDSM and Kink communities, of which she is an Ally.

She recognizes that the step to beginning therapy is one of the most difficult decisions to make, often overcoming both internal and external struggles in order to ask for help. Ange believes the therapy journey is yours to take and her job is to stand beside you offering guidance,
encouragement and affirmation, even though the journey may seem daunting. Ange will help you utilize your unique skills and navigate the pathways for getting to the top of your struggles, while making sure you pause to appreciate your progress and success.

Ange has completed Phase I in Brainspotting (BSP), a therapy that recognizes how the body and subconscious brain can hold onto trauma and looks to unlock and process the traumas mentally and physically while allowing the client to continue to feel safe and secure.

Ange is also completing her training and is in the process of earning a Sex Therapy Certification through the American Association of Sex Educators and Counseling Therapists (ASSECT).
