Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is talk-based therapy that is done with a single individual and their therapist. InnerStrength offers therapy sessions either in-office or through HIPAA-secure software you can use in the privacy of your own home or office (note: coverage may not be available for telehealth [e-therapy] sessions, and insurance verification is strongly encouraged).

Depression/Sadness/"Feeling blue"

         Depression, or even just lingering sadness, can impact a person's quality of life and outlook. It can often feel physically heavy, debilitating and like there is no way out of it, sometimes even causing thoughts of self-harm or suicide. Our therapists at InnerStrength can help with non-medicinal depression/sadness coping skills and try to help you feel happier again.

Anxiety/Worry/Chronic Uneasiness
"I am always worrying. I can't seem to stop it." // "I cannot stop thinking about my worries. It keeps me up at night."  // "Sometimes my chest feels tight, I can't breathe and things seem confusing. I wonder is something is medically wrong?"  //  "Sometimes I can't leave the hous ebecause I'm too afraid something will happen."
         Anxiety, or excessive worrying, is another common  issue many people deal with and it can often show up on physical, and mental, ways. While experiencing it, it can feel overwhelming (and sometimes painful). Racing thoughts, increased irritability and rapid heartbeat can be a couple of signs of anxiety. A therapist could possibly help with increasing non-medicinal ways to manage anxiety or worry.

Life Transitions
"I don't know if I want to be married anymore, but I'm so torn on what I really want." // "Going to college is supposed to be a happy time, but it freaks me out."  //  "Having another baby should be bringing me joy, but I am so scared." 
         Life situations and changes can often bring about feelings of uncertainty and fear. Not knowing what is ahead of us can be a scary and lonely place to be. A therapist at InnerStrength could help you with your life's new journey and help possibly make sense of what is happening and offer a comfortable space to process your thoughts, free of judgement.

Addiction/Out of Control Behavior/Impulsiveness
"I told myself I wasn't going to drink again." // "I thought this would be the last time, but I don't feel like I can stop."  //  "No one will know if I hide it and keep it to myself."  //  "I did it again, even though  I know how much harm it causes."
         Whether it is alcohol, drugs, sexual behavior, gambling or any other behavior or chemical, feeling out of control with use/acting can feel isolating, powerless and defeating. A therapist at InnerStrength could help with understanding your struggle and building healthy coping skills to regain control over your life and live free from guilt, shame and discomfort.
