Sexual Offenses/Inappropriate Sexual Behaviors
Vicki is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. Building on her education which specialized in multi-cultural practice, she strives to honor the identity, values, and strengths of each client she works with. Her practice aims to empower clients to achieve their goals and live healthier and more fulfilling lives. Vicki utilizes an eclectic theoretical orientation that draws heavily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. Vicki believes our functioning is largely shaped by our life experiences, our resources, and how we adapt. Understanding these influences can help us identify and implement new strategies to manage distressing emotions and events. Vicki recognizes that what we think and what we tell ourselves holds a significant degree of power over our mood and behaviors. She works to help clients recognize and adjust their “inner tape” or dialog to support their goal achievement.
Vicki is dedicated to client success and has used her creativity and inventive strategies to support client growth and healing in both residential and community settings. While she has experience supporting clients who are addressing a variety of concerns, her specializations include trauma and/or past victimizations, serious and persistent mental illness, social and interpersonal skills, sexual violence, and adjustment to life transitions. She is passionate about working with justice involved clients and clients facing treatment mandates under criminal and/or civil commitments. She has clinical expertise in sex offender treatment and uses evidence-based strength-based approaches to treating related concerns.
