Ariel's Style
Ariel utilizes a series of therapeutic interventions in combination with a genuine, kind, and humorous demeanor. Her training is based on the Family Systems Model supplemented by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, and Experiential Therapy. She believes that an individuals family history and past experiences in some way impact their relationships, world view and beliefs, and overall functioning. By understanding these connections and the influences they have on an individual, one can find their inner strength to make long term changes and learn ways to cope with the various symptoms they may be experiencing. She also tends to incorporate psycho-education in sessions so that clients can gain a better understanding of their mental health and how it’s impacting them.
Ariel is intentional about building a strong therapeutic relationship with clients. She is compassionate and understanding and will often use her own life experiences and humor to relate and connect with clients in order to create a safe and supportive healing environment, free of judgement.
Ariel has experience providing culturally competent and sensitive mental health services to individuals, family’s, and couples. Her passion in particular is working with adolescents and couples. She has worked with varied populations struggling with chemical dependency, physical and mental disabilities, marital issues, past trauma, and has provided services that include crisis interventions, child/parenting skills, and trauma informed work.
